On 1 January 2020, the old Namsos Municipality merged with Fosnes Municipality and Namdalseid Municipality. The result of this merger is that the new Namsos Municipality continued to use the symbols of the old Namsos Municipality.

Blazon: Kløvd av sølv og grønt ved kløverbladsnitt. In English: Per pale trefly-counter-trefly argent and vert.

The design symbolizes that Namdalseid is a farming municipality with mainly grass production. In formal description of symbolic it was provided that it stands for agriculture, landscape and nature.
