According to a Spring 2023 village newsletter, a seal was designed in 2019 by high school student Ryan Appleton as the official "Village of Colonie Centennial Celebration Seal." With a few minor alterations, it was adopted by the Board of Trustees in 2023 as the village's new official seal.
