I am informed that the City of Old Town has no flag.
Valentin Poposki, 30 May 2009
Old Town has finally adopted a flag proposed in March. The flag had been
designed by students as part of the Maine Hometown Flag Project (https://twitter.com/me_hometownflag).
Some members of the city council thought that the flag "didn't truly represent
what Old Town was about" or was too childish (with a red canoe) and required
input from city residents before being voted on. During the next 2 months the
proposed flag was exhibited and explained and was approved by a majority of
people who gave their opinion. The flag became official on May 3.
To see
the flag presented again by the teacher behind the flag project and the
unanimous vote by the CC, go to 35 minutes in this video.
