Shield Argent a hood Sable, flanked by two branches of Spanish heath Vert blossomed Purpure, on base a plough Gules. Mural crown Argent with four visible towers (town rank) and white scroll reading in black upper case serifed letters "ALVITE - MOIMENTA DA BEIRA".
Meaning:
The hood probably is an attribute of St. Amarus the Pilgrim, the local patron saint. The heath (Latin: Erica Australis) is symbolising local flora, the plough agriculture.
