Shield Argent, issuant from base a chevron reversed wavy Azure, charged with a chevronel reversed wavy Argent, enhanced a Greek cross Sable, flanked below by two small saltires Sable, on either chief corner a chestnut Gules with kernel Or. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll reading in black upper case serifed letters "UNIÃO DAS FREGUESIAS DE SOUTO E TABAÇÔ". 
Meaning:
The chevron wavy is a representation of the confluence of the rivers Lima and Vez. The chestnuts are canting elements for Souto (= chestnut grove) and representing the namesake former commune. Cross and saltires are taken from the arms of the former Tabaçô Commune.

Souto e Tabaçô is one of the 13 communes of Arcos de Valdevez Municipality created by a merger during the 2013 changes. It had 913 inhabitants in 2021 and covers 5,01 km².

Shield Azure, between two bars wavy Argent, each one charged with a barrulet wavy Azure, a pair of keys in saltire, the bendy one Or and the sinister one Argent, flanked by two chestnuts Or with kernel Gules.  Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll with inscription in black initials "SOUTO - ARCOS DE VALDEVEZ".
Meaning:
The bars wavy are representing the rivers Lima and Vez, the keys are an attribute of St. Peter, the local patron saint. The chestnuts are canting elements, as souto means chestnut grove.

Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll with inscription in black initials "TABAÇÔ". 
Meaning:
The scallop is an attribute of St. James the Elder, the local patron saint.
