Description of the flags

• two stripes, white-green, with the star in the canton (Sources: [kra82d] [l9i85] [jsu73].)
• Flags actually used:

Based on a description in [kra81]:

Divided vertically – white and green, with a six-pointed golden star in the white upper field.

According to [kra82] (French): Drapeau: parti blanc et vert, le blanc chargé d’une étoile d’or à six rais. (English): Two vertical stripes white and green, the white field with a golden six-rays star.

Horizontal flag, simple stripes with star

Vertical flag, simple stripes. Sources for this flag design: My own observations and photos, 15 August 2009, at Vaduz castle and Planken. This is the exception to the rule, as they are also using the horizontal striped flag, probably instead of the horizontal banner-of-arms

According some source, this flag is horizontal white over green with yellow star in the canton. It is possible that it is in fact a banner, not as flag.

Banner of the arms

• Arms description (German):
  • Von Weiss und Grün schräglinks geteilt, im weissen Feld ein sechseckiger, goldener Stern (Sources: [kra82d] [l9i85].)
  • Von Silber und Grün schräglinks geteilt, oben ein goldener sechsstrahliger Stern (Sources: [jsu73].)
• Arms blazoning (English): Per bend sinister of Argent and Vert, in chief a six-pointed mullet Or.
• Arms granted: 7 March 1943 (by Francis Joseph II, the reigning prince) (Sources: [kra82d] [l9i85] [jsu73].)
• Reasons for the arms: the green stands for the pastures of the municipalities, the star for the sky above (Sources: [kra82d] [l9i85].)

The arms are diagonally divided into two fields, silver and green. On the white field (!) appears a golden star with six rays. The green field represents the meadows, the star represents the sky. The arms were adopted on 7 March, 1943.
