Aspect ratio of the flags: 2: 3 
The flag shows the roof and the minaret 
of a mosque in a cogwheel. The redesign of the flag in 2016 involved the color of the flag, the 
representation of the symbol in it and the addition of a banner with the name of 
the governorate.

The symbol from the flag from 2006 was chosen for the coat of arms of the 
governorate in 2010.
