Introduction of Ruderverband Südwest

Located in: Mainz
Established: 22 June 1971, (probably date of establishing of its oldest predecessor)
Currently it has as members 45 rowing clubs, pupil rowing clubs and downgraded predecessors.

The association has not yet a flag but a logo:
It shows on a white background a black rowing boat in bend sinister with four V-shape "pairs of oars" from left to right: black-red-yellow-black. All is superimposed below the "oars" by a centred black inscription "RUDERVERBAND" (1st line) "SÜDWEST" (2nd line).
Ruderverband Südwest is the successor of local associations in Rhineland-Palatinate and Saarland. The Ruderverband Rheinland, a member of the association, also has no proper flag.

Predecessors

Landesruderverband Rheinland-Pfalz

Te white pennant was parted by an off-centred blue cross. On its centre the arms of Rhineland-Palatinate. On upper host blue inscription "LRV" and on lower hoist three parallel blue oars in bend pointing downwards.

Ruderverband Pfalz

It was a horizontal black-yellow bicolour with centred black shield displaying the yellow palatine lion, crowned, armed and tongued red and holding a yellow oar in pale by his forepaw. On yellow edge is a black circumscription "RUDERVERBAND PFALZ E.V.". The association was absorbed by LRV Rheinland-Pfalz.

Ruderbund Saar

The white flag was parted by two blue horizontal stripes. On centre between the stripes was a shield parted per fess of white and blue. It was charged above by a heraldic rose Gules seeded Or barbed Vert, below by the arms of Nassau-Saarbrücken, over all was a pair of black oars in saltire.. The shield is crested by a white rectangle with black edges, displaying a black bridge.
