Shield Argent with base wavy Azure, a rising owl Gules armed Or.
Meaning:
The blue base wavy is a representation of the Starnberger See, a lake. The owl had been the heraldic animal of the Herwarth of Hohenburg family, which between 1595 and 1688 ruled the district (Bavarian: Hofmark) of Possenhofen, to which Pöcking historically belonged. The tinctures red and white had been those of the Rosenbusch family and of the Counts of la Rosée as well. Jacob Rosenbusch, chancellor of the Duke of Bayern, gained the district licence (German: Hofmarksfreiheit) in 1537. The counts owned the district between 1779 and 1834.
