Shield Or two pales Azure, between the pales a lily proper (i.e. green stem and leaves and white blossom), crested by a winged angel´s head and flanked by wreaths shaped like white flames.
Meaning:
Düben had been a possession of the Wettin kin since the 12th century and had been seat of a district (German: Amt) of the Electorate of Sachsen. The city arms had been those of the Margraviate of Landsberg, two blue pales on a golden shield, proven by images from 1518, 1542 and 1581. The lily as a symbol of mercy probably was added after 1648, when the city had recovered from the destructions during the 30-Years-War (1618 – 1648). The angel´s head is stressing the ecclesiastical importance of the city, which had been seat of a subdivision of the Bishopric of Meißen.

The arms probably were adopted by the city council in 1705.
