Meaning:
Duke Heinrich XVI the Rich of Bayern-Landshut granted town rights in 1402, known by a copy of the grant from 1607. The oldest seal from 1412 displayed a similar pattern, the canting bullfinch (German: Dompfaff) was represented by his head only. This version prevailed until the middle of the 16th century. The complete bird and a hill were first painted by Johann Balthasar Wening in 1721, the hill changed to a triplemount during the 19th century.

The banner probably has never been approved officially. The arms were granted on 14 February 1402 by Heinrich XVI the Rich of Bayern-Landshut.
