Overview

El Peñon is a municipality located in the Bolívar Department. It was founded in 1895 and became a municipality by ordinance 008 of 24 June 1999.
The flag of El Peñon is diagonally divided (top hoist to bottom fly) blue-red and is charged with white circle bordered black with the moto Paz, Union y Trabajo (Peace, Union and Work).
Same flag is used by Chimichagua (Cesar Department).
