2 February 2022 The municipality of Goioxim (7,504 inhabitants in 2010; 70,247 ha) is located 
275 km west of Cutritiba.
The flag and arms of Goioxim are prescribed by 
Municipal Law No. 24 promulgated on 3 November 1997.
Article 1.
The 
flag of the municipality of Goioxim was imagined by teachers Terezinha de 
Oliveira Ravanelo, Paulina Bocalon Mostefal, Claudilaine da Silva Carvalho, 
Sueli de Andrade Pedroso, Luiza Maria Schadeck Pedroso, Maria Ubelina de Souza 
and Sirleide Nair Fontana Pereira, in collaboration with students from 5th, 6th, 
7th and 8th grades (1st General) and 1st and 2nd grades (General Education) at 
Colégio João Ferreira Neves; the drawing was executed by heraldist and 
vexillologist Reinaldo Valascki, in compliance with the canons of vexillology 
and the norms of Brazilian municipal heraldry and Federal Law No. 5,700 
promulgated on 1 September 1971.

Article 
18.
The coat of arms of the municipality was imagined by Loraine Zingler, 
Irineu Museka and Luiz Ravanelo Netto; the drawing was executed by heraldist and 
vexillologist Reinaldo Valascki.
a) The style of the coat of arms of Goioxim 
is of French origin and was selected as the first style of shield adopted in 
Portugal, referring to the colonizing race and main builder of the Brazilian 
nation.
b) The yellow mural crown has eight towers, eight of them visible in 
perspective view, identifying a domains' coat of arms and a 3rd rank town, that 
is, the seat of a municipality.
c) Red used for the mural crown and the 
scroll is a symbol of audacity, intrepidity, valor, gallantry, nobleness, 
command, which are attributes of the immigrants, the first colonists, who 
settled in spite of harsh climatic conditions and unite to found the basis of 
the town now the municipality of Goioxim.
d) The coat of arms is divided in 
four quarters, the central division being a blue sinuous line representing 
rivers in the municipality, the two quarters in the upper part being divided by 
a Paraná pine.
e) In the inner part of the shield's upper part are placed two 
escutcheons, one, left, featuring a statue of St. Sebastian, the municipality's 
patron saint, and the other, right, featuring a terrestrial globe, a book, an 
inkpot and a map, representing education of the municipality's main motto.

The first quarter, in the upper left part, features beautiful plains, a farmer 
plowing the soil and a beautiful animal, representing agriculture in the early 
times.
g) The second quarter in the upper part features a pine representing 
one of the municipality's great sources of income.
h) The lower left quarter 
features a farmer driving a tractor, representing the municipality's mechanized 
crops.
i) The right quarter represents the municipality's rich animal 
breeding.
j) The three cogwheels placed above the scroll symbolize industry 
in the municipality.
l) The soybean and wheat plants on the left and the bean 
and maize plants on the right symbolize the municipality's agricultural 
resources.
m) The red scroll beneath the shield is inscribed with the toponym 
"Goioxim".
n) Left the date "31/10/1995", day, month and year of emancipation 
of the municipality of Goioxim.
o) Right the date "01/01/1997", day, month 
and year of inauguration of the first Mayor of the municipality of Goioxim.

upper quarters blue and the lower ones green, charged in the center with a white 
lozenge inscribing the municipal coat of arms.
