The city emblem was adopted on Mar 6th 2006 by Notice No1 but there is
no flag law. The white flag has a green, a blue , a pink and a red four color
city emblem in the center. The 4-leaf green clover with the city name in white
stands for a harmonious integration of the former four towns and villages, the
cherry flower for the citizen walking forwards in good spirit and the blue
center of a flower for Sanada family crest of six coins. As a whole, it
represents the city’s vibrant development for the future with its nature.

The design is based on the kanji character for “武” (bu); the concentric circles symbolize harmony and unity within the village, while the straight lines represent the village's rapid development. The village name is written in white kanji characters at the bottom.
