The first, white flag shows a symbol with the outline map of the Sinai Peninsula, the landmass represented by a white center in yellow and red rays. Above the coat of arms-like symbol the name of the governorate in Arabic and in English: "Governorate of South Sinai", around it a black laurel wreath.

The symbol from the first flag became the coat of arms of the governorate in 2014. The rays are shown here in two different light shades of yellow, each separated by a thin white ray. The English signature was changed to “S. SINAI GOVERNORATE ”, the laurel wreath is now green.

Sharm el Sheikh

The flag is seen in this photo. It is blue and bears the logo of the city's name in a joint Arabic and English format in white.

For some clarification, the slogan-image on this flag has an intermixing of "Sharm" in English on the top, and "Sharm" in Arabic [which is read right-to-left" as (mrahs) شرم ] on the bottom; particularly where the English "a" is modified as an "m" [ م ] in Arabic, and at the right the English "m" becomes intermixed with the three-dot "s" [ش] of Arabic – sort of an artistic upside-down "mirror image" of the two different letters – pretty "cool looking" once one understands what is intermixing in this artwork! The wording of "El Sheikh" itself does not appear on this flag.
