From the communal website: "The village church is already mentioned in the year 1010 as royal property. The territory followed the destiny of the lordship of Grandson to which it belonged. The town has retained as its coat of arms a shield appearing on an old hallmark which could date from the 17th century.
The tree that originally appeared there could have been a lime tree. The reasons for the switch to oak at the beginning of the 20th century remain mysterious. They were officially validated in 2011 by the Municipal Council. [...]"
