Azure a chamois Or statant on a mount of five coupeaux of this Last charged with a roundel of the First.

The roundel stands for the hole in the Tschingelhörner mountain chain (6 by 18 metres), through which the sun shines twice a year onto the rooftop of Elm's church.

Since 1 January 2011 Elm is part of Glarus Süd commune.
