The Association was founded in 2006 through the merger of the Kantonalschützverband Bern
(est. 1824) and the Bernisch-Kantonaler Sportschützen-Verband (est. 1921).
The flag shows in a stylized manner the Bernese emblem, added with the circles of a
shooting target. Along the top border is a yellow stripe with black lettering of the associations name
