The new emblem is a variant resembling the old emblem of the Buchegg counts, which is documented since
the 14th century.
The Buchegg commune was created on 1 January 2014 by a merger of Kyburg-Buchegg, Aetigkofen, Aetingen, Bibern,
Brügglen, Gossliwil, Hessigkofen, Küttigkofen, Mühledorf and Tscheppach
(see below).
